An Overview of International Border Crossings
International Border Crossings
The map below provides a comprehensive overview of all international border crossings, including new border posts and approximate opening hours.
Croatian Borders
Croatia's borders span a total length of 2197 kilometers, shared with five neighboring countries: Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro. The border with Slovenia is particularly important, as it represents Croatia's only direct access to the European Union.
Albanian Border Crossings
Cross-border traffic at Albania's borders with its five neighboring countries varies significantly. The border with Kosovo is the most frequently crossed, while the border with Montenegro is the least crossed. In January 2023, border controls between Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia were abolished, creating a single economic area.
Croatia's Schengen Membership
Croatia became a member of the Schengen Area in 2023. As a result, temporary border controls at land and sea borders with other Schengen countries were abolished in October 2023.
